Jeff Wilder is a Husband, Father, Son, Realtor, Mentor and ACTIVE Community Member in District 109.
He is a native of Florence, South Carolina and has been a resident of Charleston for the past twenty (20) years. He is married to the love of his life, Attorney Tiffany Spann-Wilder and is the father of two (2) children, Jared (14) and Lauren (11). Jeff and Tiffany love to travel as they believe that learning goes beyond the classroom.
Upon graduating from West Florence High School, Jeff’s family situation necessitated that he join the military. He enlisted in the US Army and served proudly and honorably until his discharge. Jeff achieved the rank of SGT and is a decorated war veteran having served in several conflicts and Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. Over his years of service, he earned the Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (3D Award), National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon Numeral 2, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert infantryman Badge, Expert Badge Rifle, Expert Badge Grenade, Arm Lapel Button, Southwest Asia Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.
After his military career, Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University (SIU) and has worked in sales/marketing and is a SC Licensed Realtor. Jeff is a Servant Leader and has been an advocate for our youth as a Boy Scout Leader, Girl Scout Troop Dad, Big Brother/Big Sister Mentor, Charleston County School District and Dorchester District II Volunteer. His commitment is not just in word, but in deed as well. He has devoted years to raising funds with his fraternity to take young men ages 8-14 to overnight summer camp. Many of the youth had never left the peninsula before attending camp. Not only has he raised funds, but Jeff has donated one (1) week of his time each year to escort and chaperone the boys. He has taken his Army days experiences and exposed these young men to swimming, horseback riding and archery. He knows that to have new experiences and see new places, the world opens up and one can be what he has seen.
Jeff is energetic and outgoing – he gives 110% to all he does. He is “that dad” who attends all the swim meets, basketball games, piano recitals, dance and cheer events and cheers for his children and every kid on the team. He will lend that same energy to representing the people of District 109.
